Update 3 - No Sleep, Push an Update?


V03  - No sleep, so let's push another update? I guess? 

This update mostly focused on difficulty adjustments, but that's not all... 

  • Input - Added Joysticks controls (and added D-pad wording to the instructions though it has always been there, oops) I do not have full controller support just yet, nor mobile. 
  • Gameplay - Adjusted Bubbles Collision Size to be slightly larger
  • Gameplay - Adjusted Gunners Collision size to be slightly lower on his body.
  • Gameplay - Adjusted all spawners to be slower. 
  • Gameplay - Adjusted all timers, hopefully allowing you to play a little longer. 
  • Visual - Changed default size to 1920x1080, but it should be fully adjustable now. I hope this makes it better for those with varying screen sizes. For now the solution is some black bars. I know for some people this is jarring and others love this (I am the latter) so let me know your thoughts. I could always add Easter Egg Art to it or the like. 
  • Visual - Added a counter for you bubble collection. Wonder why...
  • Visual - Credits were added in game, they need some adjustment, but they are finally there. 
  • Visual - Settings menu was rearranged to fit credits and new instruction info. 
  • Visual - UI was rearranged slightly to fit new bubble counter, high scores being shown between games, and the viewport size change. 
  • Visual - While you can't see it yet, the game launches in windowed mode now. 
  • Other - Saves were added. 
  • Other - Some more changes and additions to the dialogue. 
  • Bugfix - High Scores will no longer show during the game. Technically not a bug, but there were complaints about not being able to see the bubbles behind it. 
  • Bugfix - I had accidentally removed the dead animation from the gameplay loop. I have brought it back, and with better timing. 
  • Bugfix - High scores now stay on screen between matches like they should. 
  • Bugfix - Bubble doesn't spawn early on second playthrough + and despawn anymore. 


This updates biggest struggles: Debating the black bar. Controversial. 

This updates biggest success: No real troubles... yet. 

Plans for future updates 

In no order and not totally inclusive and if I mark them off now, doesn't mean I won't go back and revisit them later; 

  • Credits in game
  • Difficulty adjustments
  • Some visual bug fixes/improvements.
  • Better Instructions with their own dedicated button
  • Possible change or vary the loot
  • Add a bit of story to give the situation some context
  • Save function, which will come with the downloadable version returning
    • Downloadable version will return soon.
  • Difficultly modifiers, such as lives and more socks
  • Score multiplying events
  • More dialogue, opening and ending at very least.
  • More socks.
  • Additional levels, at minimum I am thinking some holiday themed ones such as Halloween. 
    • Levels would likely change background and socks themselves. 
    • I am not sure if they will be traditionally score based or other objective, ie collect 10 Ghosts, or some combination.
    • Levels may also be modes. Which will be different then the current multipliers. More on this next update though. 
  • Skins.
  • Change death (all) sound(s), something fluffier?

As a note, I'll be participating in https://itch.io/jam/spring-sok-jam and my real life job has a very big project with a July 1 deadline. 

If there is a bug however, do not hesitate to let me know. I will not mind taking a bit of my time to patch something.
